EP1 Casinko Mar 06, 2005

As it turns out Sealab was built on an ancient Indian burial ground and is now sinking into the ocean floor. The only hope to save Sealab is John Bear, Sealab's resident Native American. But in order to save Sealab Shank's must agree to turn the Mess Hall into a casino which he does. But once the casino opens John Bear still won't stop the sinking (or let Debbie have a lounge show).

Marco convinces Debbie to give up her "questionable" ways through a pep talk, leading her to find religion and dump Quinn. Meanwhile, Sparks recognizes the pep talk from a 60's show, which leads a drunken Quinn to sic the network on the fugitive TV star Marco.

Abalon, a terminally ill whale, comes to Sealab and asks Doctor Quinn to kill him. While Quinn wonders whether or not he could end a life Stormy recognizes Abalon as the star of a show called ‘I Gotta Have That Dick' and starts bugging him with fan fics. While Quinn examines Abalon's whale cancer Marco accidentally eats some of it and is inspired to create his own drink called F-YEAH!

Synopsis

The year is 2021. Deep below the ocean's surface, looms a vast, magnificently high-tech compound: Sealab. A multi-national scientific station with an annual budget in the trillions, manned by a motley collection of malcontents and screw-ups who were unfit for work in the private sector. They really don't get any research done, but instead spend their time bickering among themselves or just plain goofing off. The crew have manipulated their luckless leader, Captain Murphy, into submission, and are content to ride the government clock, raking in fat, hazardous-duty paychecks.

NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
Skyler Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
movieman_kev A re-imagining of the old "Sealab 2020" cartoon from the early 1970's. This short 11 minute cartoon series was simply insanely stream-of-geek-conciseness and utterly hilarious (for the first 3 seasons) After the death of the immensely great Harry Goz, the show took a nosedive straight into the crapper. His Captain Murphy character was the glue that held the great series together and without his the humor just ceased to be there anymore. In my eyes the show ceased to exist a little before the end of season 3, it just took two more years to bury the then bloated and long since dead show.Harry episodes grade: A After his sad death: D
HarvSurf Cartoon Network's dedicated team of lunatics, misfits and stoners at Adult Swim take hold of a staid, stodgy ancient cartoon (SeaLab 2020) and move it one year on to where the crew are bored, listless, and borderline insane...Dodgy animation loops blend perfectly with edgy humour (Sparks: "Like veal. But with BABIES. I'm talkin' reaalll baby back ribs here...") and the show pokes fun at just about every cartoon standard.Best of all is their take on the "evil twin" shtick, when the hideous mutant Bizarro versions of the crew show up. Simple yet genius - please let Adult Swim loose in the UK...
adogg90 After hearing many comments on the show, it makes me angry to hear such backlash from something that is so funny! People, sit down, drink your soda, and laugh! I know I did, and I'm a better person for doing so. By the way, while you're at it, watch Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Brak Show, and other hilarious shows on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.
bjmc1975 Consistently hysterical fifteen minute cartoon on the cartoon network. Arguably the funniest of the "Adult Swim" cartoons. References range from Jonathan Swift to the Incredible Hulk. Tends towards the surreal (especially "Waking Quinn"). Has far better comic timing than one would think possible with primarily recycled animation.
