StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
SincereFinest disgusting, overrated, pointless
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Yash Wade Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
purplehpurple Back in the day every series that 4Kids got their hands on was the subject of controversy. They were derided for their censorship and unusual changes made to series, and Sonic X certainly got its fair share of that. Honestly though, even if the dub were more accurate to the original it still would not have been great.Sonic X is a series where its hero is so powerful and so competent that they have to focus on other characters fro the majority of the show, otherwise the stories would be over in half the time. Chris and his family are wastes of time. Sure, some people wound up liking the characters, but if you ask most people they'd tell you that when they watch a Sonic show what they want to see are Sonic characters. If they had been new animal people like the Freedom Fighters in SatAM and Archie Sonic that would be one thing, but these human characters are just given far too much focus in a Sonic the Hedgehog series. It's not very funny, the animation isn't very thrilling, and it gives too much attention to characters most audiences don't care for. Yes, the original dub was a bit funnier and had more fourth wall breaking jokes, but that didn't make it great. Sonic X is just okay. I wouldn't recommend anyone seek it out, but if for some reason you have literally nothing else to watch and you just need something on, Sonic X will do.
milestailsprower-36321 Sonic X, the very first Sonic anime and the first Sonic show to be actually created by Sega, in fact created by Sonic Team as well. This anime was criticized by a lot of fans, mostly due to the changes 4kids entertainment made of it, 4kids entertainment is not bad, if it wasn't for them we would not be watching anime's such as Yu GI oh, Pokemon and Teenage mutant ninja turtles. A lot of criticism was brought onto Chris for getting more screen time, replacing Amy to redeem Shadow, taking Tails's role as Sonic's sidekick and shutting down the portal to stop Sonic from going back to his world, this stuff happened because this show was not just to surround Sonic but Chris too because he and Sonic are the two main protagonists, having Chris in the show and if it were to be all about Sonic would make no sense, you can't just stick some random kid in a show with no plot it would be pointless. That is why Chris got more screen time so they could explain the bio on Chris, this is his only series appearance too, that is also why Chris became Sonic's sidekick because when there are two main protagonists they become a duo like Batman and Robin. Chris stopped Sonic from going back to his world because he was afraid if he left Chris would back to his lonely life without his busy wealthy parents who rarely spend any time with him till they understood why Chris stopped Sonic from leaving, Chris was not really a bad character but yeah the show revolved around him too much but they had to do that to explain his bio and he was one of the characters to be promoted by Sonic Team. Then there was Cosmo who was also criticized, she was criticized for warping Tails mostly, which is crazy just because if Tails falls in love does not mean Cosmo warped him, a lot of fans liked Tails and Cream Which does not make sense is the fact Tails and Cream are no couple they do not even romantically interact with each other only as friends, there are fans who like Tails and Cream over Tails and Cosmo, Tails and Cream are a non Cannon couple while Tails and Cosmo are a couple because they romantically interacted with each other while Tails and Cream did not. This whole English dub series was worked on by 4kids entertainment and they did not know the series all that well, that is why some prefer Japanese over English, this show's criticism was a bit unnecessary and Sonic X should ranked higher than Sonic Boom and i got twenty reasons why, one: this show is a classic while Sonic Boom is not a classic, classic's are always better than new except for technology evolution, two:this show has a better plot than Sonic Boom, three: the got the most of the Sonic games as plots on this show while Sonic Boom just has Sonic Boom, four: this show has been on the air more longer than the other Sonic shows for eleven years, five: this shows popularity was high enough to make a third season after they planned to cancel it, six: none of these episodes are stand alone like in Sonic Boom which is what a show needs good plots, seven this shows animation was made to look exactly like the animated illustrations, eight: this show was more creative than Sonic Boom, nine: this was totally based off the game series while Sonic Boom was just based off another series that was low ranked, ten: the episodes are longer than the Sonic Boom, eleven: This whole show was popular enough to get the whole series on DVD while Sonic Boom does not have any yet, twelve: this show's setting took place where some of the games usually take place and that is station square, thirteen: all of the character's personality's were not snarled like in Sonic Boom, fourteen: Tail's invention's do not fail as much as in Sonic Boom which is good, fifteen: this show did not have much changes compared to Sonic Boom, sixteen: this was the first Sonic media to have Mike Pollock voice Dr Eggman and he is still voicing Eggman even in the games while the other characters got new voice actors after 2009 if this was not created Mike Pollock would not be voicing Eggman at at all, seventeen: this show had been bought by many corporations after it ended which means it was popular, eighteen: Sonic Boom was made to resemble shows like Spongeob Squarepants while in the third season of Sonic X was resembled like Star Trek and Star Trek is as just as good as Spongebob, nineteen: this show has science fiction and comedy in it while Sonic Boom just had Comedy, twenty: this whole show is going to be on DVD again by Discotek media which is going to be a complete box set which is a way cool thing for popularity. This show should be ranked higher without a doubt more than Sonic Boom.
prestonwardcondra It's 2015 and I haven't seen this cartoon in almost 10 years and I recently binge watched it this past Summer to give it a shot, and see what I missed. I sorta liked it as a kid. Now I never wanna see another episode of this sorry excuse of a cartoon ever again. The voice acting is tolerable and it has a catchy theme song (reason why I'm not giving it a 1) Like any dubbing for an American cartoon is any good anyway.80% of the episodes of Sonic X basically consist of the main humanoid character, Chris Thorndyke going to school and catching up to see how Sonic is doing and how Tails helps them find a way back home. Chris Thorndyke is an unlikable main character and Season 1 basically consisted of nothing but watching him and and his butler and lady servant, cook food and have tea. You know the typical first world problem stuff you see the rich do on a daily basis. It's not entertaining and Eggman (the main villain) is unknowingly absent in a few episodes of Season 1 making you question what direction this show is taking.Season 2 was basically a recreation of Sonic Adventure 1, 2 and Sonic Battle. By the time Season 2 started and they introduced Shadow The Hedgehog to the mix, I just had to stop watching. In the first few episodes where Shadow fought with Sonic, it was told through still shots, yes still shots. If you are expecting high octane, exhilarating, bright, colorful, memorable fights you are going to be disappointed with this show. It doesn't offer any of that.Still shots? In an anime that was made back in 2004? This is truly pathetic. Season 3 took place in space but, I had long couldn't withstand this show anymore. 2/10.
Cartoon King The first Sonic show was just in the middle. Not that bad, but not that great. The second one was amazing, but was sadly canceled before the plots could be resolved. The third one was bad, but not the worst ever. But the fourth, and so far final Sonic cartoon, an anime called "Sonic X" is just terrible. Now before you say that I've never given the show a chance, I'll have you know I watched nearly every episode. And almost every single one was painful to sit through. The first episode started out pretty good. It had a cool action scene, and did a good job explaining why Sonic and friends are on Earth in the Sonic Adventure games. The voice acting was terrible though, but it was a decent way to start off the series. But when Chris Thorndyke was introduced, the show went downhill from there. Chris is an annoying, spot-light-hogging, Sonic-obsessed, cry-baby, rich 12-year-old boy who is voiced by Veronica Taylor, who also voiced Ash Ketchum in the early seasons of "Pokemon". Chris keeps Sonic as his little pet and cries whenever Sonic leaves for something important. Here is a list of things wrong with this show, excluding Chris since I already mentioned him: -Bland writing. The SatAM sonic series had great writing, but this show's writing is either boring, stupid, or rushed. Almost every episode is extremely predictable. For example: Chris, Tails, or Amy gets kidnapped by Robotnik, he makes this really big, really powerful robot, Sonic beats it in a few seconds and saves Chris, Tails, or Amy. Also there's the really stupid filler episodes, the badly executed remakes of "Sonic Adventure"; "Sonic Adventure 2" and "Sonic Battle", and the lame, outer-space episodes of season 3.Horrible voice acting. These voice performances are worse than the ones in the Sonic movie from 1999. Sonic sounds bored and emotionless; Knuckles sounds too loud and gravely; Tails sounds like a little girl; Robotnik sounds nothing like the menacing, evil and threatening Doctor he was in the SatAM show; Rouge sounds like she's in her 50s; Amy sounds even more obnoxious and irritating than she does in the games; and new characters like Bokkun, Decoe and Bocoe have really annoying voices. And sadly these guys started voicing the characters on the games in 2005, but luckily were fired in 2010.That annoying theme song. Some people will say it was cool or catchy, but it was really just annoying. It was fast-paced, obnoxious, and just plain stupid. Sonic SatAM had a good theme song, this show didn't.Too many humans. I know I already mentioned Chris, but there's more than him. there's his grandpa Chuck, who is a complete rip-off of Sonic's uncle Chuck. His butler, his parents, his maid. Chris shouldn't have been the main character. This is "Sonic X", not "Chris X".Out of character. Too many characters just aren't their-selves. Sonic is lazy and sleeps all the time; Robotnik (or "Eggman" as he is called in this show and the recent Sonic games) is just a big goof-ball who hates Sonic. He practically is the same way he was in Adventures of Sonic; Amy is her old self only for some reason they make it where Sonic actually likes her, which is way out of his character, since he just thought she was annoying in the games.Overall this show sucks. It is definitely one of the top 15 worst animated TV shows of all time. Sonic SatAM is an actually good Sonic cartoon. I suggest watching that over this pile of crap.Rating: 2/10 "Terrible"
