Diagonaldi Very well executed
BroadcastChic Excellent, a Must See
ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
cafevincent I found Voyager to be the only watchable Star Trek. The Original series is so old these days it's completely unwatchable for someone like me. The Next generation may be the perfect example of how diplomacy should work in our future but it doesn't offer very exiting conflict for storytelling. I seem to recall half of those stories begin with "we received a distress call" and "now orbiting this place" and end with successful negotiations of some sort. Beyond boring. I never liked Deep Space Nine either, it just seemed like a horrible idea to anchor the show to a single location, seemed like a soap series in space to me. Enterprise was filled to the brim with horrible actors and had no replay value. Voyager to the rescue!First of all, apart from the first 2-3 seasons, the stories have a lot more cinematic quality to them. I think it's the writing. The stories often begin in the middle of a situation and starts to unravel. This is good since the scripts seem to be so full of things happening they had to get creative in order to fit the story into a single episode. So no more boredom. It's pretty much the opposite of TNG.Not only that but the whole premise of being stranded in an unknown area of the galaxy for me is a much better set up for a series than policing around an established area. This should be the best trek for this reason alone.Third, the cast is the most interesting so far. I loved the captain for having more balls than Picard, I loved Paris for being a relateable criminal, I loved the doctor and Seven for their artificial nature, I even loved Nelix and Tuvok. The cast had a good family dynamic. This gave way for some good, naturally whimsical, subtle humor that really was the cherry on top for me.So to sum up Voyager had a good premise, good casting, good stories. The only downside to this show are the first 2-3 seasons which are just as bad as the other Trek shows so I highly recommend searching for a skip list to at least weed out the bad non-storyarch episodes to get you to the end of season 3 as fast as possible. It's an absolute thrill ride after that, you'll thank me later.
sajeannekozi Since the very first Star Trek series aired in the 60s, I have been watching Star Trek EVERYTHING! I was a Sci-Fi fan before the show aired & sucked my parents into my world with Shatner, Nimoy, & Kelly... It turned out to be a family uniting show because we all loved it. This show should not have ST out front... it just doesn't feel right. I watched a few seasons but didn't find myself caring about any of the characters. They didn't seem to care about each other in the ST way so I didn't care about them; simple math. Disappointing.I gave 2 stars for aesthetics. Save your time & skip this one.
fritzb-73059 I've never been able to understand why a person would watch an entire seven year series, hating it all the way. Option: Turn the channel. You've got nothing to lose. It's not like in the theater where one might sit through a tepid movie because they paid admission. Voyager was free. Take it or leave it.Personally, I enjoyed the show. I liked the plot, the cast, and most of the story lines. I appreciated the mix of drama and action. Voyager, in my opinion, was a very good program. Had I not felt good about it... I would have turned it off. Problem solved. Not every series is going to be a masterpiece. Not everyone is going to like every show. If it's your cup of tea, drink it. If not, put the cup down.
alexanderdavies-99382 By the time this "Star Trek" shows was unveiled, creativity had pretty much come to an end.The premise is OK but I feel "Star Trek Voyager" is rather samey and pedestrian. No progress seems to be made in the characters returning home.Kate Mulgrew is good, as is the holographic Doctor (an interesting character) but the rest of the cast don't convince me.
