Let's be realistic.

Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

Ok I am not a hater, but i've never seen such a terrible example of Star Wars on screen before. I have a lot to say about this show, but bear with me.This show is supposed to be a direct sequel to Star Wars: the Clone Wars, which was one of the best shows ever made. Most episodes were cinematic adventures., where you actually cared about the characters and you were worried if they were going to die, and you actually got something out of it. In Star Wars Rebels, nobody ever dies, except a few Stormtroopers, who, by the way, turn out to only be "knocked out" by the end. And there's no lessons learned by the end of the episode. Its just terrorists blowing up something made by the empire and then getting away. Literally in every episode they steal Stormtrooper armor and attack the Empire without getting hurt or loosing anything. Remember in A New Hope, where the Empire was menacing and seemed impossible to defeat? Well in this show they are literally so stupid every time they try something they end up loosing. Every time. There is a scene where the Rebels, as a distraction, throw a midget alien onto the window. So the empire officers immediately whip out their guns and shoot at the obviously impervious glass, and then they KEEP SHOOTING AT IT.I guess the biggest reason I dislike this show is the characters. The writers try to make us care about them, but honestly I could care less since none of them are in the movies. So lets start with Ezra. So apparently we're supposed to treat Ezra like young Anakin, except he has no parents, and he randomly finds out he has the force in the first episode. Not only that, he doesn't die in the end, which he should of, because Rey and Luke were the LAST JEDI. I never liked Ezra's character. Sabine. The writers tried to make her so important by suddenly, all in one episode, she becomes some sort of queen of mandalore and she randomly becomes super good at using a dark saber, which means she basically can't die. Zeb. Oh my gosh, i've never hated anyone or anything more than this guy. He is litterally supposed to be the "chewbacca" of Rebels but I hate him so much. His design is even based off concept art for Chewie. Maybe, just maybe, i can like him, if he didnt talk. Thats why everyone loves Chewbacca. He doesn't talk, so the audience can just fill in what they think he's saying, because he's funnier that way but at the same time, he's super powerful. We seriously can't have an episode without these terrible characters, there was one episode that was supposed to be all about Darth Maul trying to enact his revenge on obi-wan Kenobi, which would have been awesome, But the writers have half the episode just watching Ezra and Chopper walk around in the Desert. We didn't need that, you just put them in the episode because you think the episode would do better with them. When I heard this show's design would be based off of Ralph McQuarrie's concept art, I was excited. Except maybe if the animation wasnt so bad it would be cool. But skinny lightsabers? No. Ugly AT-AT's? Nope. Darth Vader looked pretty awesome, but for some reason he's only in like 2 episodes and then he never comes back. (???)And they bring Ahsoka back. I mean, that was sorta cool, and the only moment I liked about this show was when she realized Darth Vader was her old master, Anakin, but they ruin her too by bringing her back to life in the last Season, and, like Ezra, she just hangs out somewhere in the galaxy, doing nothing, When Luke is supposed to be the last Jedi.Ok another thing: The first inquisitor was kinda cool. He was a hard villian to defeat and he had a cool duel with Ezra, which he died. So at the beginning of season two, it starts with Ezra and Kanan fighting two new inquisitors. What? Thats not how you start a season, randomly throw in two more super powerful villains with no backstory! Not only that, but the inquisitors...get ready...start spinning their lightsabers, and they fly away. Like helicopters. I swear im not joking. They do it throughout the entire episode. Can you imagine, in The Phantom Menace, if Darth Maul just started spinning his lightsaber, and he flies away? This show is SO BAD compared to Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I honestly will never understand why EVERYONE loves it so much. Sorry my review was so long, but you just have to understand this show is kiddie garbage.

I really wanted to like this series, but for several reasons i couldn't.First, animations, especially at any conversation, are horrible. It's one of the minor flaws. Second, it targets a really young audience. Plots are silly. Every good guy is a Mary Sue or Gary Stu, while Empire is all incompetent fools (save few) that makes you wonder why Empire doesn't crumble to a sneeze (I know it's an issue with the entire franchise but believe me this one REALLY stands out). There is an enemy, but not a threat. It kills all the fun in an action oriented plot.Looking back, only thing i liked about the entire series was Darth Maul. His episodes were really enjoyable. He was a really interesting character in this one, and added some good plots and a bit of grey to the palette where everything was black and white. With him gone, i'm really much interested with Rebels anymore. Return of Tharn was nice i admit, but he's not going to fill the hole Maul left: A villain that personally bound with the protagonist which have added a bit more maturity, and a real sense of danger, both with his lightsaber and corrupting influence.

(THE ONLY GOOD EPISODES ARE LISTED AT BOTTOM)The biggest problem is the writing. The people who wrote this were the writers of the Clone Wars series, which, newsflash...was not a kids show. It was very dark and violent. Now they are given a TV-Y7 rating cap on it, and literally just don't know what to do with it. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't mind shows that are TV-Y7, when they are done correctly, ex. Transformers Prime. But this one is just done poorly. As a result of the TV-Y7 rating, there's rarely any deaths, with the only ones being off screen or implied, and the fighting is really bland. Also the empire is completely incompetent and serves no real threat. And its so campy. The writers have just resorted to thinking: "People are gonna keep watching it no matter how terrible it is." So they're just lazy. They never take any risks. (Except for the 5 episodes at the bottom)The worst part: The main characters. They're just so stupid and campy. Except Hera (twilek pilot) and Kanan (former Jedi knight) had really good potential and are still good characters, and I wish the series focused on them. Unfortunately, it focuses on Ezra. This whiny little kid who is force sensitive and can't make a single wise decision, not mention through all the series and his Jedi training, his character hasn't developed at all. Zeb (talking Chewbacca knockoff) is just annoying and one dimensional. Sabine (mandalorian...graffiti artist) had great potential but they ruined her too.The dialogue in this show sounds like it was written by a 9 year old. The animation sucks. All of people tell me to "give it time", like how "the first season of the Clone Wars and its movie had those same problems." The difference is...Clone Wars got its crap together by the end of its first season. Rebels is now at the beginning of the 4th season and it hasn't improved a thing. I just can't wait til its over.If you want to save your time and watch the only good episodes, here they are:S02 E01 Siege of Lothal ; S02 E21 Twilight of the Apprentice ; S03 E06 The Last Battle ; S03 E20 Twin Suns ; S03 E21/22 Zero HourSadly, these episodes have Ezra in them. Just try to ignore him. But these episodes have really powerful moments in them, its sad that the rest of the series sucks so much.

I can describe it in few words: SW:Rebels just for kiddos, because Empire stupid AF and always sucking from group of rats who pretend to be "rebels". Empire! WTF. Finished watching after they SUCCESSFULLY ESCAPED from Destroyer in 1st episode. Extremal stupidity even for SW universe.
