NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Spidersecu Don't Believe the Hype
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
mraculeated The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Charles Herold (cherold) Based on the first episode, submission seems to want to bring porn to something like the old MTV series Undressed. So basically you have some sort of "comic" exchange between characters, and then there's some nudity, and then some more "comedy." The series is competently filmed and acted, but the writing fails to make any of it interesting. As for the porn, well, it's kind of unsexy. Like the dialogue, it feels like it's just there because they decided to make a porn comedy and thus they are contractually required to have some sex and have some banter. For what it's worth the creator of this series writes and directs hardcore porn and in that field she's won a number of awards.
mgigi My favorite part of Submission was the character played by Justin Berti, Elliot. I thought the execution of this character is exactly what women wanted when they went to see Fifty Shades of Grey. I was one of the many women that were left wanting more out of the Christian Grey character but Elliot has completely filled that void. His voice is perfection, his demeanor and overall persona is just so intriguing and delicious to watch. The show pushes it in many ways but it's not conventional and that's what the women who are curious about that subject want to see. I want to see more of Elliot and I'm hoping they don't keep us waiting for too long....I am waiting for Season 2!
ChrisaRafa Frankly I find this series at least AWFUL.Nice girls, not so good looking men.A typical story-line. Just to have an excuse to show tits.It is a soft porn but the worst kind.I mean, if you have watched Red Shoe Diaries or the movies Nine 1/2 Weeks, Wild Orchid or Basic Instinct, you can understand the TRUE sexual tension, the eroticism. Or the mini series Flesh and Bone.I truly believe that there is plenty of room for erotic series either on Showtime or in any other cable channel. But "Submission" is a total waste of time.
pdtp911 Here is a series, presented by Showtime, named "Submission." If you watched "Billions" this season, you know that they already have toyed with B&D/S&M. Then I saw that the name of one of the creators was Jacky St. James and I suspected the direction we were going. Still, I did not expect to encounter the terrible acting and silly, flat dialog that always accompanies porn, but there it was, in every scene. Yikes! However, following the wild success of the "Shades of Grey" series, and the release of the first movie installment, more than a year ago, someone was going to attempt to fill the void that nature abhors. At this point, 41% of the 29 people who rated this episode gave it a 10. A 10??? There you go! This is softer than hard-core porn, and harder than soft-core porn. What I do appreciate, as a woman, is that the first episode focused on female pleasure rather than the typical, endless pounding of most male-oriented porn that I have seen. There are plenty of exposed female parts, but no male parts, so far. I always find this interesting. It is supposed to be a tale of sexual awakening. Are they trying to awaken men to the fact that women are not enjoying having their heads slammed into the headboard? If so, awesome! Still, I just think that with their budget and access to actors and directors, they could have produced something really great. Instead, they decided to make the series appear low budget and vapid. I love that they tried but still, I know they can do better. Fingers crossed.
