Synopsis

The Sunday Night Sex Show was a live call-in Canadian television show which ran from 1996 to 2005. It aired on the W Network and was one of their most popular programs. Every week, callers would line up on the phone to talk to the host, Sue Johanson, about various topics from how to spice up one's sex life, to advice on how to select the right sex toy, to how to deal with various relationship issues. For many years, reruns of the show ran on the Oxygen Network in the United States, but American viewers were frustrated that they couldn't call in during the live airing in Canada. Eventually, a U.S. version of the show, titled Talk Sex with Sue Johanson, was created. Reasons for the Canadian cancellation were never given by either Johanson or the W Network. The U.S. show ended with the May 11, 2008 episode. Johanson was very emotional at the conclusion of the show and joined on stage by her supporting cast. Before the television series aired, Johanson was host of a syndicated radio call-in show in Canada, which was initially titled Sex with Sue, and later became Sunday Night Sex Show. Johanson retained the latter title for her television series.

Infamousta brilliant actors, brilliant editing
ChicRawIdol A brilliant film that helped define a genre
maids_are_us I know she's an older woman, and that makes people uncomfortable when outcome's to sex. But if it was a sexy porn star hosting it, you wouldn't get the same message out of it. Sue always talks about safety and the importance of using protection, not being forced into anything, and making sure that sex is good, safe, and comfortable for the callers and the viewers. If it was somebody "cooler" (but I think shes really cool, and the show's been around for a while now so that shows that she's pretty cool), it wouldn't be focused as much on making sex positive. It's a much bigger show in Canada than it is here though, so maybe some Americans need to tune in too! I love this show, and I love hearing Sue's frank discussion on things that are "taboo"
LolaLuv_85 OK, so maybe I'm just a silly little girl but the Sunday Night Sex Show is one of the best informative shows about sex around. Sue knows what she's talking about and let's face it, if she was some hot-to-trot titty-hanging-out tramp talking about sex, no one would even process the information. This show gives people that extra push to learn about sexuality in a way that even the older generations can get kinky without it feeling "wrong" or "dirty". Sex is a normal part of humanity and Sue gives great advice to those who need it.Sometimes the questions are repetitive or make me wonder "doesn't s/he know that already?" but all in all a great start to making sexuality something to talk about by the water cooler. And not just the "who did who" talk but talk about real-life normal everyday(or not quite) sex.I give this show my thumbs-up for being what it is. Don't expect some crazy discussions (unless you've never heard of a dildo before) but do get ready for some frank talk about sex.
