Reviews

StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Ogosmith Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Skyler Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
natalie-81839 I have to say that having watched and truly enjoyed 10+ TV show seasons of the newer Murdoch Mysteries with Yannick Bisson, Thomas Craig, Helene Joy, and Jonny Harris, I had extremely hard time getting through these older three movies ... Perhaps these movies are more true to the Victorian reality so they are darker and totally humorless, but I didn't warm up to any of the characters, and especially the inspector (Colm Meaney) put me off with his shouting and boorishness.
Randi Murdoch and Ogden are good characters. The mysteries in and of themselves are intriguing and enjoyable, and there is a wee bit of humor. However, many, perhaps most of the characters and their dialog is ugly. Perhaps this is realistic, but I prefer movies that build me up, not gross me out. Much of the casting and acting was mediocre.
jcoldwater Very smart and entertaining show! Maybe people will look into some of these story lines and see how our reality is orchestrated by the few banking families holding the world hostage?? Hope springs eternal! END THE FED! THE WORLD BANK AND THE IMF... Etc!That was all I had to say, but since I need to say more, I will comment on a couple of my favorite episodes. The one about the monetary and government philosophies. Notice, the plot to blame the Anarchists for "fomenting dissent" was created by the Capitalists! And that plot could have started a war! It happens with wars to this day. False flags! Look them up! Educate yourselves! The very first episode... "Power" showed us how we could have all been free a long time ago through the intelligent use of technology, resources and FREE energy, but notice AGAIN how PROFITS for the "Few" were more important than actual progress for ALL of earth's inhabitants. If true freedom could have been experienced then, it could be now.We must make these "out of touch" people see the error of their ways by making them and their money irrelevant!
benbrae76 I've only recently seen "The Murdoch Mysteries", and for the life of me I can't understand why the plug was pulled on them. I thought they were terrific.Peter Outerbridge was perfectly cast as the eponymous hero, and ideally coupled (in the first two episodes) with the ever delectably delicious Keeley Hawes, and the plots weren't bad either. So what went wrong? I wish someone could tell me. There were recent murmurings that the BBC were interested in taking up the reins, but I've yet to hear anything solid. If some company does start making further episodes, either in the UK or in Canada, I sincerely hope, (mainly because I'm passionately in love with Keeley Hawes, only don't tell the wife) that they round up the same cast.
