This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

This by far is no doubt the best example of reboot especially for the next generation who don't know Thundercats that well and I am one of those. I am a person who grew up in the early 2000's and trust coming from a person who got introduced to the thundercats because of this incarnation. It's a great show. This show goes into detail on how Lion O got his hands on the sword and the book of omens, why his team had to abandon their village after the lizard army invaded and the past history of all of Lion O's teammates and some of his villains. This shows action is good without coming out flat or boring and it's dramatic/comedy moments are great with out coming out as forced or slapstick. Unlike that infamous Thundercats Roar that is coming out soon. This show had a lot of good episodes but some of them just were boring or just time fillers like that episode where it only focused on Willykit and Willykat being thieves for Toolkit and using his forever bag as storage. That was the only that was a bore but I liked majority of every other episode.I only wish that this show had more support at the time it was on because it was cancelled for one of the most idiotic reason either toys weren't selling well or because it was too expensive to animate. If Cartoon Network didn't want to finish it off they could have gave the licences to Adult Swim or Netflix to continue. But bloody Cartoon Network had to be money greedy trolls and use the same animation just to make that pitfully Thundercats roar which nobody wants. For some reason it would be like Teen Titans Go all over again.I also like how this reboot has taken on an anime style tone within it's art style which I really like it is cleaver that they took the same approach with the 2009 He-Man series. This is the Thundercats series I want to see so hopefully you would too. I just hope they bring it back so it can finish off it's last season. Someday.

I would give it a 10 out of 10 but they never finished the series. They left it open ended, leaving us to want to see more and never getting it. At least the original series finished properly. I watched the entire series. Thunder cats is my favorite cartoon of all time but the original is better than the sequel. If they ever make a second season I will write a better review next time.

Reboots are very tricky. On one hand (or paw), what's the point in them if you're just going to do a beat for beat remake of the original? On the other hand, there are essential elements that you simply don't mess with. Getting that balance just right is the key to successfully relaunching a brand or franchise.Cartoon Network's 2011 reboot is a pretty bold enterprise, radically re-imagining many elements of the Thundercats mythology, changing their personalities and interpersonal relationships, and completely dropping many of the original series' iconic elements. The result, sadly, is a series that feels the need to cut off its nose to spite its face. The changes here simply don't work. While the new mythology feels like it was thought out more thoroughly beforehand than the original, it's often too cluttered and convoluted for its own good. The characterizations also don't work. For dramatic purposes I understand the need to introduce some conflict amongst the previously "Kumbaya" Thundercats, but what should've lasted a few episodes was dragged out, resulting in characters that just aren't very likable.Artistically, the anime-influenced animation is handsome and effective, but the new character designs lack the iconic punch of the originals. The same goes with the music. The score is serviceable, but generic, lacking the instantly recognizable leitmotif of Bernard Hoffer's original. In the end, Thundercats 2.0 just never comes together. It's clear that a lot of time and effort went into it, but the result is a sum less than the total of its parts.

To be honest, I did not like the series, at all. the good thing about the original series, was, to my point of view, how different it looked from other series. Hair, costumes, voices, they were independent of each other, you did not see the same clothing on Thundercats that what you saw on galaxy rangers or dungeons and dragons or voltron. For example, in the new series, all of the clothing used by the characters, is something that could be used today, same for the hair and verbal expressions. They are supposed to be different, they come from another planet!! The original series may have been cheesy, but I think the teachings they gave to us kids back then, were valuable ones, that in today's world, you just don't see anymore. They barely had violence, and they sure didn't have blood or something that could cause little kids to freak out.I much rather watch re-runs of the original series.
