Best movie ever!
Dirtylogy
It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Teddie Blake
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Calum Hutton
It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

I believe if you prefer the other top gear like I do this one will not match up to itThis is not that show! This is a goofy like that with the love-hate relationship The hosts have with each other the exception they prefer the American cars. They shoot ya a few facts, crack ia few Family friendlyish silly jokes aimed at themselves and have a few challenge that a lot of us would enjoy doing with somebody else's vehicle.

The Cast: This is a car show and you need car people. Adam simply doesn't belong on this show and it is clear that he doesn't care about cars. I could forgive him the first season but he has not made any improvement. Rutledge appears to genuinely know about cars but unfortunately he cannot drive. Get that kid some lessons because you can't have driving challenges with two captain slows. Tanner is a great driver and he cocky attitude plays well on the screen but he needs to stop cheating. The show is about cars, not his ego. The Challenges: I love the concept of all the challenges. They are creative things that America's youth would be interested in. However the show needs to stay true to the challenge. If the budget is $5,000 for a car, you cannot give a host a late model Mercedes (salvage title or not, it's way over budget). Pick something any one of us could find on CraigsList. Also, the cheating needs to stop. Viewers are interested in seeing how the host's selections match up. The show should be about the cars so revealing the well known strengths and flaws of comparable vehicles is what made the UK Top Gear so great. The Reviews: I hate to say it but this part of the show is pretty lame. These segments should be fueled by pure desire for speed and excitement but none of the hosts can pull off a narrative. Stop filming them and just show the car in all it's beauty. I don't need to see Tanner's face between each shot (it's pretty clear that it is always Tanner who narrates because he cheats to win and is the only host they would dare hand the keys to a performance car). What's Missing: The show needs to capture the attention of today's youth and help build interest in cars and racing. Documenting outlets for racing and getting these hosts into the scene is the only way to do that. Have them pick autocross cars for $5,000 and make them go to an actual autocross event. Have them go ice racing in the northern states. Show the viewers what its like to attend a track day at your local race track. In other words, pick challenges that are realistic for the average viewer and document the specifics of them. There are a lot of affordable outlets in motorsports that are missing from this show that the original Top Gear was able to capitalize on. Of course it helps when you have hosts that can actually drive.

This show is light years away from the quality of the original. The biggest mistake the producers made was to hire the hosts. They brought in Tanner Foust, a racing driver. The guy can drive and you can tell he knows cars. He'd make a good Stig, but his personality is too dull for the camera. Rutledge Wood is too damn stupid to be on this show. It's as if the producers honored the last wish of a juvenile with an inoperable brain tumor who has 1 month left to live. Lastly, they brought in a third-rate comedian: Adam Ferrara. You can tell this is just another gig to him because he doesn't seem to like cars, nor does he really know how to drive them either. His main purpose seems to be to loosely tie together this ill-fitted band of rejects. The show has been on for 5 seasons now, and every season I have noticed the show diverging more and more from the original. They did away with the opening theme song, they no longer have a news section, and in the latest season they don't even have guests for the first few episodes. I don't think they even review cars anymore. Every show is just one stupid "challenge" after another. I think the producers finally realized that the hosts aren't cutting it, and are structuring the show in such a way to give the hosts less and less opportunity to embarrass themselves. Shame.

When I first watched the USA version, I was very disappointed. They had copied much of the British version but the show lacked chemistry.I happened to watch one of the latest British episodes and actually found the USA version to be much more fun. IMHO the best British episodes were always those where they did road trips - Vietnam, the southern US, the north pole, etc. Their regular episodes like the one I just watched included their rambling on the latest car news, a couple of car reviews, and the most boring of all, star in a car (that portion might as well be dancing with the stars except it's even worse since they spend a five to ten minutes chatting with their "star" who is often second or third rate at best; isn't this supposed to be a car show?). I should admit I still like the show even with its shortcomings. Now the USA version has transformed itself into the weekly road trip that I love so much on the British version. The three actors now truly have chemistry and it is obvious they enjoy what they are doing. Shame they only select cars from the US market but at least once in awhile at the end of the show they get to drive something that was never sold in the US (the Peel Trident is a good example) Watch this season's aquatic cars and I'm sure you'll agree that it's even better than the British equivalent that they copied. I had almost given up on the show and I ignore the old repeats, especially those that included the star in a car. I had never truly considered Top Gear as a car review show (watch Autoweek if you need that) and the USA version has finally succeeded in becoming pure automotive entertainment and nothing more. Keep up the good work; I still cannot believe I'm finding the USA version better than the British one!
