Wonderful character development!

The story-telling is good with flashbacks.The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

I'm not surprised by all the negative reviews. It's one of the most frustrating series I've ever watched, the premise is fantastic, a wonderfully clever plot, but after the first few episodes it seems to lose the plot completely. Series one was pretty decent I thought, watchable, Series two was more of the same, but felt a bit lethargic, Series three was an abomination, and shouldn't have been made, it totally lost the plot.The acting was patchy, it started well, then seemed to go off the boil as it went on. I think had it been a single series, with a definite explanation it would have worked better, the usual criticisms with shows like Lost, Walking Dead etc is they milk them until they kill them, and have no choice but to cancel, sometimes less is more, in this case it would have been.Interesting at the start, a few good bits, but way too many missed opportunities, all I can remember thinking was if I saw that cow once more I'd switch off, however I saw it through to the terrible conclusion. A waste.

Having read the book, I was excited for the program. The excitement was short-lived. I could excuse the moronic script writing and junior high level acting at first, but within a few episodes it became completely unwatchable. Read the book. Waste no time on this garbage.

I found this show to be excellent. There are a lot of bad reviews out there but I think most people missed the point. If you are to focused on acting you can't enjoy the show because that is all you will see. However if you genuinely enjoying watching a show with a great story then you will enjoy this show. I thought it was executed well. For the first two seasons I wasn't sure what the dome was about and the last season tied everything in. I thought that was great. It had enough mystery and intrigue to keep me hooked. Big Jim character I didn't like and he played his role very well. I also thought Barbie and Julia love story was cute and played an important role. All in all it was an excellent show that I had fun watching. Honestly I'm not one to let sub-par acting ruin a good story. And it really wasn't that bad. Turn up your suspension of disbelief and have fun. Otherwise move on. (why do people criticize movies that are unbelievable any..that's the point).

For someone who loves TV show and is quite used to all the mediocrity they often contain I was baffled by this show and how AWFUL, BORING and REPETITIVE it is. 1) It is generic. The plot could be summed-up with: guy meets girl during apocalyptic scenario, they fall in love in a VERY short amount of time, insert random tension, people start turning on each other, girl saves the day. Boom, you got it. 2) The characters have no depth, they don't act logically (ex: In season 3, when Barbie discovers Eva's corpse - a woman he spent one year with in the alternative reality, with who he had a BABY - he gives this half-arsed excuse that he didn't really knew her, the real her and that he never really loved her *insert random illogical babble* and that it's why he choose a woman who he knew for three weeks over one he loved for over a year.), they have no depth whatsoever (except maybe Big Jim) and are so dull it is actually unbelievable. Those characters are not characters, they are caricatures of the clichés they represent. 3) The main character is a Mary-Sue. Anything she does will be forgiven and has a justification valid enough for it to be done. She does what has to be done (like blowing a mine while Norrie, Joe and Carolyn are in it, killing Carolyn in the process but don't worry, Norrie forgives her and blames Christine because OF COURSE IT WOULDN'T BE JULIA'S FAULT, NOT AT ALL) *sarcasm*. This character turned out to be so annoying I had to skip every scene she was in or I would be forced to roll my eyes or suffer through every line she said because they made no sense whatsoever and the way she acts like she can never be wrong is just infuriating. 4) The way some characters are treated make me want to puke (Eva was one of my favorite because for ONCE in this show you had a character with motives that made at least some sense : she loves Dale, want to tell him the truth about herself and live happy with him. Sure, it's cheesy but it makes SENSE. Guess what ? After three episodes they turn her into an alien and she becomes an "evil" person that the show tries to picture has such a cold-heart ed person it's super lame. Honestly, this show tries to make you like Julia so bad it's painful. Oh and the best part, the minute she becomes human again ? She gets killed. GREAT.)5) The useless drama and repetitive schema. In season one or two (sorry but I got so bored at some point that I just started to play a game on my console) there is love triangle between Norrie, Joe and Melanie. Joe goes with Melanie for a while but then realizes that she's not the love of his life and that Norrie is the one for him. A schema we can find again in season 3 with Eva, Barbie and Julia. BORING. I came for a sci-fi show not twilight, thanks. 6) The political correctness. This shown is so diverse it could be it's own world. Do you really think that in Chester's Mill a small town in MAINE you'll be able to find Natives, Black people, Asians, lesbians, secret agents ? No. So stop, this is not working. 7) Can we address the problem with Junior ? This kid is obviously disturbed, maybe letting him be a DEPUTY was NOT a good idea. Here again with the logical problems. And this is only a glimpse of what is wrong with this show. Honestly ? Don't watch it, don't recommend it, forget it. Sure, many actors played their roles as good as they could but couldn't save it thanks to toxic characters, script and just a plot that is too stretched and ridiculous. Read the book.
