Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Horror Icon I watched this 40-episode drama series over a holiday a while ago. It's a remake of the Taiwanese 'The Prince Who Turns Into a Frog', which I hadn't watched before this. Overall, 'Waking Love Up' is a fairly traditional romantic-comedy TV series. The characters and plot were engaging enough for me to watch all episodes (despite it feeling dragged out and boring at times). Though the clichéd storyline may have been lacking, it's made up by the ability of the actors, particularly Yan Tang and Roy Chiu. The scenery of the series was good, being set in Sanya (the tropical beach region of China). However, many of the special effects used were dreadful. Those scenes should have been fixed or deleted out. The soundtrack was my favourite part, using songs from artists like JJ Lin, By2 and Stephy Qi (who also plays a lead character in the show).
