FrogGlace In other words, this film is a surreal ride.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
minjaandjelkovic I must admit that I have not been much of a fan for Australian TV shows since I was a teenager when I was absolutely in love with Heartbreak High in the 90s. And I decided to give it a try, and here I am binge-watching it, season by season, in just a few days. Main characters are portrayed very well although I think that Miss Miles' personal story should have been developed. She's there, she is involved in some moments in the story but , again, that's it, our knowledge concerning her story is limited. AND...my fav character and actress is Liz or Celia Ireland..., the way this woman acts...I give credit to this woman, I absolutely love her. She's gorgeous.
porquinha_rj I'm from Brazil and I loved watching the series. The plot is wonderful and so are the actors. They are to be congratulated! The way the characters are exploited is very clever and, little by little, I became addicted and curious to know the unfolding of the story. The only negative criticism is about a character who left the series in the fourth season ... she deserved more, much more.
Bzb I've said for years the British are, on average, better actors than Americans-now I will have to include the Aussies. The thing is, I almost didn't bother to watch this, until after exhausting all seasons of lesser-quality shows. I didn't know then, but now I am better for seeing it. Excellent. Consistently surprising. Inventive yet believable. 'Orange' was fine the first two years; now it is simply a sexual cartoon fantasy-there's little to watch, and nothing to learn, or enlighten. The comparison is there and so must be made: two women's prison dramas. Well, that's all they share, at this point. Wentworth grows. Orange festers...now it's a barely watchable soap opera. Anyone who feels HBO, Amazon or any other company produces the best show, better take a look at this jewel. Sure, a few things are unlikely..but far more credible than depicted elsewhere. Real people, not caricatures. Real problems, in a realistic prison. Doesn't pull punches-prison is never 'fun', but the women have realistic conflicts, resolved within the rules set, again realistically, by both staff and inmates. The top actors are brilliant, with ASTA and as far as I'm concerned, Emmy-worthy performances from Pamela Rabe and Nicole da Silva. da Silva is masterful at showing guilt, and facing dilemmas in and out of the slammer. Ferguson (Rabe) may be the greatest character in prison TV history. So psychotic, yet so plausible. Unpredictable, yet believable scripts. It's simply a wonderful creation.
iliaskymusic The only reason I am giving this show a 9 is because I can not call it my absolute favorite, but other than that? Superb!Intelligent dialogue, complex characters, evolving and intriguing story lines...most importantly - realistic! Oh, and did I say Pamela Rabe? If you just started watching, wait until this lady appears on the screen portraying the villain of the show. What a performance, every frame she occupies makes you feel uneasy...her rigid demeanor and at first seemingly unemotional behavior in contrast with her inevitable meltdowns is something utterly terrifying to watch... If I had to compare her portrayal of Joan Furguson in the series to another performance, I would say Javier Bardem in "No Country for Old Men"...the same menacing tension that comes every single time the camera lays its lens on him is present in Rabe's performance. Just brilliant! However, she does not get all the credit...I honestly couldn't find one actor in this series who wasn't utterly "inhibiting" their character.A must watch for all prison themed TV shows and great TV in general.
