It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

I have absolutely never seen anything like this movie before. You have to see this movie.

This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

This show definitely gets my full backing, I can't believe they cancelled it. Maybe it's just my personal branch of sarcastic, cynical humour that compliments Whitney Cumming's style but this was a show I could laugh at while at the same time follow the morals behind the laughs. Like the episode where Whitney hates being called "crazy" and it's revealed that all of the group members have their own personal triggers really hits hard at home because the sentiment behind some of their meanings, especially Alex's, is definitely something I can empathise with. It was a totally cool show and I hope NBC comes to it's senses and renews this for a third season and Whitney herself finds some time too.

One of the other reviews mentioned they laugh at their own jokes, I think this this adds a little bit of a SNL like flavor to the show, as if the other character was not exactly following a script but actually came up with their own lines for the character they are playing.I realize that this show is not everyone's cup of tea, for instance some of the sex jokes are quite extreme even by today's standards. The show would also alienate many of those with more conservative outlooks on life. But I think if not as mainstream as Friends was, it's a good continuation in a similar format, just target towards a subset of new age young adults to middle aged city dwellers.I'm shelving this show with the best comedies that were ever created, such as Frasier. It is still early and they are still doing some adjustments, some of the guest stars are quite terrible, like the half sister and the ex husband. Alex's brother, and Whitney's dad are very well done tho.I sincerely hope the TV networks are going to be picking up many more episodes for years to come!

I read that this show wasn't getting canceled because Whitney is a friend of Chelsea Lately. This really disappointed me, as I love Chelsea Lately, she is hilarious. If that is true, I cannot believe she stuck her neck out for this show. I personally have never seen Whitney Cummings stand up comedy so I cannot comment on how this show compares to that, but I will tell you that this show is disappointing all around. The characters display the most classic narcissistic behaviors which are always unattractive but this is especially so in these characters because they are in their late thirties and forties and still haven't figured out how to stop being annoying, whiny, a-holes. I don't know who this show was written for, because people in their teens or twenties or even thirties surely don't aspire to be these people. They are more a cautionary tale if anything, but their situations are overdone and predictable. It makes me sad to think about people wasting their lives watching this crap so much so that I felt like it was a kind act to write this review to prevent anyone else from suffering through this show. Another thing is I cannot stand Whitney's voice, as soon as I hear it on a commercial or the show comes on I turn the mute on immediately. Its also really annoying because its in the middle of a good night of line up, luckily using the remote or buttons on the TV require minimal effort to click to another channel while I wait for actually good show (30 Rock, New Girl, Apartment 23, Parks & Rec) to come back on. The star I gave for the show goes to the man Chris Elia? not sure if that is his name, but he gets a star for suffering through this terrible chick flick psycho drama of the ironic girl who turned out to be not ironic...nor that funny. This last point is pretty harsh but it has to be said, a lot of shows on television are terrible, but at least there is some eye candy (think Kim K) so people will watch it, there is absolutely no eye candy on this show so you can't even mute the show and enjoy. Please do your good deed and warn people about this show and let's hope NBC can try to pull something better out of its ass, there are so many better comedians about whom to try to base a show....

This is a brilliant sitcom which addresses issues of modern couples which other shows are afraid to touch and does so in a witty and entertaining way. I can't begin to understand why there are so many negative reviews out from viewers and critics. I find Whitney to be more real than many characters in sitcoms, perhaps because she does play a fictionalized version of herself and draws on her own life events and experiences in creating the skits. Her boyfriend provides balance to the show as well since Whitney on her own can be a bit over the top. I was afraid that the bad reviews would kill the show and am pleased that it will be returning for a second season. This was not clear at the end of season 1 because the season seemed complete on its own.
