Synopsis

The show where everything's made up and the points don't matter. Not a talk show, not a sitcom, not a game show, Whose Line Is It Anyway? is a completely unique concept to network television. Four talented actors perform completely unrehearsed skits and games in front of a studio audience. Host Drew Carey sets the scene, with contributions from the audience, but the actors rely completely on their quick wit and improvisational skills. It's genuinely improvised, so anything can happen - and often does.

Reviews

Micransix Crappy film
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Darin One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
ctomvelu1 A show that should have gone on forever, WLIIA presents four performers and a moderator, for purposes of doing nothing but improv. Drew Carey was the host and Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie were the mainstays, along with a revolving cast that included Wayne Brady,Brad Sherwood. and Greg Proops. Other than Stiles, costar of the equally long-running The Drew Carey Show, most of the comedians were unknown to TV audiences prior to this show. Mochrie, a rubber-faced, balding Canadian whose innocent demeanor was bellied by frequent naughty one-liners, was especially funny. Occasinal celebrity guest stars like Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg were at best hit or miss. Unfortunately, reality TV came along and killed the show after an eight-season run. Perhaps Carey and crew were tired of it by then. Comedy is tough, but improv is tougher. I highly recommend catching late-night reruns on the ABC Family Channel and also on youtube. Some of my favorite segments, all of which can be seen on youtube, are WEIRD NEWSCASTERS and the show's truly bizarre version of The Dating Game. I don't think I have ever heard a studio audience laugh louder, and audience members were frequently called upon to help out in certain segments, making things even funnier (see the legendary "Tarzan and Jane" segment on youtube to see what I mean). Highly recommended.
Michele_with_one_L Whose Line Is It Anyway? is perfection. No matter what the scene is and no matter the how bad and offtrack it goes, the entire cast put 100 per cent of their creativity into it to make it absolutely hilarious! A special mention has to go, obviously, to Colin Mochrie (my personal favorite) and Ryan Stiles. They are the best comedy duo I have ever seen. As best friends, they take nothing seriously and never hesitate to insult each other (various bald jokes and big nose quirks are aplenty!) and host Drew Carey. And it's especially hilarious how annoyed Ryan gets with the Hoe Down's - by far the best game ever. Oh, and Colin's impressions also get a shout-out...plainly because he can't do any. But don't worry Colin, we love you still the same! They brought improv comedy to the mass attention of the world and it's been ablaze ever since. So massive congratulations and ongoing thank you's go to this remarkably talented cast and for their great effort at making the world a funnier and happier place! BRING BACK WHOSE LINE IS IT ANWAY?!
nathanielman7 OK, seriously, if you haven't watched this show, go sit in front of a television this second! Whose Line, is by far the best improv comedy show that has ever existed. With original jokes, amazing guest appearances, a fantastic cast, and brilliant presentation, this show is my ll time favorite. The reason this show succeeds is simply because of the wonderful work of the four, ever present, people in this show; Drew, Colin, Wayne, and Ryan. All of the comedians/contestants get along with each other very well, and work together to create a half hour show that is guaranteed to have you laughing on the floor within the first five minutes.Give this show a chance... i swear on my life that you will enjoy it!
