Synopsis

Everyone else sees Wilfred as just a dog, but Ryan sees a crude and somewhat surly, yet irrepressibly brave and honest Australian bloke in a cheap dog suit. While leading him through a series of comedic and existential adventures, Wilfred the dog shows Ryan the man how to overcome his fears and joyfully embrace the unpredictability and insanity of the world around him.

Lucybespro It is a performances centric movie
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Allissa .Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
nemod12 I try to keep it short because i've seen some good reviews here that describe the show very nice. I just wanted to contribute with giving this show some more positive feedback.I missed a few episodes by watching it on TV. So i am watching it on a rerun now. But the finale season was so great with a beautiful ending. This alone deserves my thanks. So many of my favorite shows got cancelled in the past.Great show, wonderful acting, pretty deep script. I love it and just wanted to tell you to give it a try. It's funny, it's sad. It's a bit strange. but there's real beauty too in in. Some nice little art.
gvkirk This show was great, short and funny episodes that I could easily view at any time on Netflix. It's a great mix between a sitcom and an actual plot line. I understand why many people don't like it. It takes an odd sense of humor, I mean really odd. It's a dark, twisted, and psychological comedy. The final season is great so far as it has began to take a dark path as it ties up loose ends in an intense and shocking way. Watch the first season, if you really don't like it, stop. If you're unsure, the shows gets better and better as it goes on (except for the random loss of actors for two significant characters, Ryan's mom and Bruce).
Bobby Matusek Wilfred, now barreling into its 4th and final season, has become one of my favorite shows on television. This may create some bias when reviewing the show, but I believe that the show can give a lot to people willing to give it a chance. The show is centered around Ryan, (played by Elijah Wood), and his neighbor's dog Wilfred, (played by Jason Gann). From the very beginning of the show, you find out about Ryan's struggles, and in regards to issues in his life, they seem to repeat themselves. Wilfred is always there when things go wrong, (trust me, they do a lot), and Ryan always finds himself blaming Wilfred when the situation could have been prevented . I seem to resonate a lot with Ryan, and I feel like much of the common young adult would have to agree with that statement. Ryan has a poor relationship with his father, he can't seem to stay focused enough to hold down a job, his mother is off the walls, and he has a reoccurring struggle with women. All while talking to this dog whom he believes is a person in a dog costume. I see Ryan as an image of the common man not wanting to accept his own issues, and not wanting to accept the fact that he is just one man in an infinity universe. If you are watching this show expecting a comedy, like I did one rainy night 3 years ago, you will be pleasantly surprised when it brings so much more.
Tom Savage There are many reasons why I love this TV show and feel it deserves a bigger audience. It is intelligent, very funny, an exploration of the human mind and relationships (or the lack of), refreshing, original, daring, human, does not feel the need to cater to the masses, and let's not forget that the characters are very well performed. The human factor is one of those factors that I, despite the fact that it is a surreal series at times, find very relatable, or at the very least interesting. I end up laughing at least a couple of times each episode, mostly due to some dog reference or absurd reaction from Wilfred (Jason Gann), but also numerous situations where Wilfred and Ryan (Elijah Wood) are out in public. The humor is often unexpected, subtle one time, and very direct a few scenes later. It will get your tummy shaking at least once every episode. Absolutely wonderful! There is a serious side to the story, which keeps me intrigued in the long run, but may be off-putting to people who do not follow the series as a whole. Some of the episodes may seem a bit too surreal or even far fetched if you are not open minded. There have been episodes that I did not find very relevant or a bit 'out there', but even those will still be worth your time.I would recommend watching at least one episode, with an open mind, even if you feel this may not be for you. Personally I prefer watching an episode after a busy day. I find it oddly relaxing as well...
