Reviews

Protraph Lack of good storyline.
Seraherrera The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Francene Odetta It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
vze3vhtf To date, the X-Men have had four animated incarnations on TV.The first was 1989's " Pryde of the X-Men "(unless you count some sporadic appearances of X-Men characters in episodes of " Spiderman & His Amazing Friends ", from the early 1980's).Then from 1992-97, Fox network aired, " X-Men ", which used some the art from " Pryde ", but was much more involved. After the release of the first live action film in 2000, " X-Men Evolution " aired on Kids WB, though I still don't understand to this day why the main characters were made to be high school students? So the latest version is "Wolverine and the X-Men", which is, in a word-Excellent! In W.A.T.X.M., the more purist characters and atmosphere of the 1992 series, is combined with the superior graphics of ' Evolution '.The result is a show that is superior to its predecessors in nearly every way-I say NEARLY because the writing & voice acting of the 1992 series still remains unmatched in my opinion. This series also seems to closely follow the continuity of the live action films. In addition, it should be noted that the late Boyd Kirkland, who was one of the creators of the original ' Batman: The Animated Series ', served as Producer on both " Evo ", and " W.A.T.X.M. ".M
night_wng2000 I rated this lower than I typically would, as I love Marvel, mainly because I haven't been very impressed with the past few years' attempts to re-invent the X-Men series. Opposite that thought, I do enjoy watching them, and don't plan to miss any shows, however mundane I think the story-line is. It will only get worse, now that Stan has sold interest to Disney. But, I recommend this to all Marvel fans.I do disagree with another poster, who mentioned his disappointment, in having Wolverine be the leader of the team. This poster must not be a true fan, or know much about the original comics, because Wolverine is the bedrock of the X-Men, a natural leader, and has been so since the early days. I only wish the writers would put less attention to the characters' personal relationships, and focus more on the mission or crisis. It's irritating to see an action show or toon turned into a romantic drama, just so the producers can try to draw in a certain demographic of viewers. Enjoy it for what it is, and don't look for deeper meaning.
neoflux-animator This show is great... and after watching the last episode.. I hope they extend it for a 2nd season. The way it was handled and promoted was a joke.It aired in Spanish, first, so there were leaks of the full episodes in Spanish before US viewers even got a solid preview. Then it aired in Canada before the US so more viewers tuned in to the Canadian stations to watch the episodes online or watched them streaming through the endless list of sites (youtube included) which featured them... because they weren't available at release date and with a show like this spoilers are abound if you don't keep up.So their hardcore fans of X-men are watching it from Canada... then the BBC picks it up and puts out an episode a day. They burnt through the series and were the first English release to hit the web viewers. All and all I still can't find it on my TV schedule state side and nobody is talking about it (at least nobody who isn't watching it through their computers). In the end I hope Marvel realized that poor planning, a bad time table, under marketing and conflicting international releases are to blame for this series not doing well ratings and returns wise. It's a great series and if they release season 2 with a bit of common sense the return will be gang busters. Come on AoA.
nomad-entertainment I loved this series. I spent the last 2day watching all 17 episodes on an anime site. For some reason i could never find it scheduled on nicktoons. I figured i would be able to watch 1 episode but when i came across a site that had 17 episodes available, i couldn't resist and I'm glad i couldn't. This series does seem to be a blend of the original series and evolution and though that may seem like a bad thing it really isn't. All the characters are returned to adulthood (Cyclops, Storm, Night crawler etc) and this makes the characters more recognizable to comic fans. First let me say the beginning credit sequence is incredible and set you up from the beginning for an amazing show. The thought of Wolverine being the main focus of the show, seemed just to be a promotional piece for the upcoming movie X-men origins:wolverine and though in many ways it is, the whole thing makes sense within the story and at the end of the day it works.each episode gets bigger and better. wait until you see the Hulk episode (one of my favorites) as well as professor X/Bishop/Lorna Dane future episode. Christopher Yost who has written many amen comics has hands down written some of the best episodes of this series. They got it right big time with this series and after the mishaps that was the fantastic four and the unwatchable Avenger: Together We Stand, wasn't sure if that was even possible. even spectacular spiderman wasn't great, though it had some decent elements. anyway this is highly recommended. for all those who hated evolutions and have issues with the live action films, this series will make you like the X-men again. nuff said
