Monty treks through the forests and mountains of Slovenia, as he learns the dramatic story of the most successful mass escape of Allied prisoners in World War II.

Monty follows in the footsteps of Len Harley, who escaped from the Nazis across Italy's Majella mountains in winter, and reunites Len - who's now 98 - with Rosina Spinosa, who helped him escape.

Monty recounts the story of a daring SAS mission behind enemy lines in northern Italy, and retraces the troops' dramatic escape route across the Apuan Alps.
